Applies to: Blade keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux 68, Flux 84, and Flux 87 regional models, Devil Breaker and related keyboards, Steampunk, Other supported wireless keyboards shown in the App

Steps

Steps
  1. Export important profiles and record the current keyboard, DarkBeacon App, and firmware versions.
  2. Charge wireless models, connect the device directly by USB, and disconnect other identical devices to avoid selection mistakes.
  3. Confirm that About shows DarkBeacon App 1.16.228 or later, then open the selected device. If the keyboard appears as a PS5 keyboard, use the keep-settings shortcut documented for its marketing name, wait for PC mode, and select it again. Do not guess a shortcut from a generic PS5 card.
  4. If an update compatibility check is still running, wait. Review the release information on the device card when available, then confirm the displayed marketing name, current version, and target version. For this release, continue only when DarkBeacon App offers firmware v285.0.0 for that keyboard; another product may correctly remain on an earlier version.
  5. Close other software that controls or remaps the device, including background instances, but keep DarkBeacon App open for this update. Prevent computer sleep and do not start an operating-system restart.
  6. Start the update once. Leave the keyboard in its current operating mode unless DarkBeacon App instructs you to change it. Expect the keyboard to disconnect and return when that behavior is part of the guided flow.
  7. If DarkBeacon App presents additional update steps, follow them in the displayed order. Do not repeat or skip a completed step.
  8. Wait for explicit completion. Do not unplug, switch connection mode, quit the App, or press reset while progress is advancing.
  9. After reconnection, confirm the displayed marketing name, firmware v285.0.0 or the exact version that was offered, ordinary input, calibration when applicable, active profile, lighting, Gamepad state, and any intended PS5 mode shortcut.

Confirm success

DarkBeacon App reports completion, the intended keyboard reconnects in its expected mode, the resulting version is visible, and essential input plus saved settings behave as expected.

Save result

The installed update remains on the device. User settings can be retained, reset, or adjusted by an update, so keep the export until post-update verification finishes.

Limits and cautions

Recovery

If progress stops, leave USB and power connected and wait for DarkBeacon App's documented timeout. Reconnect once only when the App directs it. Then use Recover from an interrupted or failed update; do not start repeated updates blindly.

If the update cannot start because the keyboard is busy or access is denied, this may be an application-access or Windows driver problem rather than damaged firmware. Follow the same recovery guide's pre-installation checks. Do not uninstall HID drivers or reset the keyboard as a first response.

See Use device recovery in DarkBeacon App for a recovery entry presented by the App, and Submit feedback and diagnostics when support asks for more information.
