DARKBEACON GUIDE
Check system requirements
Check Windows and Apple silicon Mac support, understand Intel Mac and Chromebook limits, and learn which features work offline.
Applies to: DarkBeacon App
What you will understand
The App runs on Windows 10, Windows 11, and macOS on Apple silicon Macs. Plan for a direct USB connection when you configure a device, and for a network connection when you use account, Store, Community, or AI features.

| Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC | Supported; choose the Windows download. |

A keyboard may still provide standard keyboard input on an Intel Mac or a compatible Chromebook. To change advanced settings, use a supported Windows computer or Apple silicon Mac first and confirm that the settings have been saved to the keyboard. Basic keyboard compatibility depends on the computer, keyboard, connection, and feature; it does not make App-dependent features available on an unsupported system.
Connections and offline use
Beyond a supported operating system, plan for the following:
- A direct USB data connection to the keyboard for configuration, calibration, and updates.
- Free disk space for the application and for content you download later.
- A network connection for sign-in, cloud sync, Store, Community, downloads, diagnostics upload, and AI experiences.
After installation, supported local device configuration can continue to work without a network connection. Online pages and account services remain unavailable until the connection returns.
The keyboard can also provide standard input after you close the App. Only supported settings successfully saved to the keyboard are covered by device storage; features that run through the App still need it to remain open. See Understand preview, save, and sync before disconnecting or closing the App.
Limits and cautions
Available features can differ between the two systems and between devices. The controller types offered in gamepad mapping, for example, are not the same on both systems. When the App dims or omits a control on your computer, treat that option as unavailable in the current state.
