Use device recovery in the App

Follow a recovery state that the App explicitly recognizes, protect power and identity, and stop before unsupported repair actions.

What you will accomplish

Complete a guided recovery (A model-specific recovery action that the App offers after recognizing the current device state) only when the App recognizes the device state and offers an approved action for the exact model.

  1. Stop ordinary configuration and record the model, connection, App version, visible message, and action that preceded the problem.
  2. Disconnect other identical devices and reconnect the target once by USB.
  3. Open the recovery entry the App presents. Confirm that its model and state match the physical device.
  4. If the App cannot identify the model automatically, follow only its visible account-history or product-label prompt. Check the physical label yourself and stop if the proposed product does not match.
  5. Export or preserve settings if the App still allows it, then read the data-loss and package information.
  6. Start the offered recovery once and keep power, cable, and the App stable until a result appears.
  7. After normal detection returns, verify device identity, version, essential input, profiles, calibration, lighting, and wireless modes as applicable.

On Windows, third-party drivers may interfere with the keyboard connection even when ordinary typing works. An access problem does not by itself mean that firmware recovery is needed. See Recover from an interrupted or failed update for an explanation of possible driver interference.

Confirm success

The device leaves the recovery state, reconnects under its normal model, and passes essential input and model-specific checks without another recovery prompt.

Save result

Recovery can replace firmware or settings. Do not assume that previous device content remains; restore only a compatible backup after normal operation is confirmed.

Limits and cautions

Recovery

Keep the device powered and record the final visible state. Do not repeat the same recovery or use recovery intended for another device. Submit privacy-safe evidence through support.
