Configure the Steampunk screen and screensaver

Select screen content, set a screensaver, verify the display state, and restore a known image safely.

What you will accomplish

Configure the Steampunk display and screensaver (Screen content that appears after the configured idle period), then verify the image, timeout behavior, and saved result.

  1. Open the Steampunk device page and select Screen.
  2. Review the current image and screensaver state before replacing anything.
  3. Choose a supported image from a trusted source or an existing device image. Preview its crop, contrast, and orientation.
  4. Choose a screensaver image and a comfortable timeout, or disable the screensaver with the visible control.
  5. Apply the preview, leave the device idle, and confirm that the screensaver starts and exits as expected.
  6. Save to device (Store the current settings on the device so they remain after the App disconnects or power is restored) and wait for every visible image and settings operation to finish before disconnecting.

Confirm success

The normal image is correct, the screensaver starts after the selected idle period, and normal display returns when the device wakes.

Save result

Selecting a screensaver does not necessarily upload or replace its image. Confirm that the chosen image already exists and that the App reports every required operation as complete.

Limits and cautions

Only visible supported image choices and timeout ranges apply. Large or unsupported assets can fail before preview. Never use private account, message, or device-identifying content in a shared resource.

Recovery

Select the previous image, disable the screensaver, or restore the default display choice. If the display remains busy or blank, stop repeated uploads and reconnect once before seeking support.
