DARKBEACON GUIDE
Fix settings that are not saved or use the wrong profile
Distinguish preview, device save, onboard selection, local profiles, and cloud sync before overwriting or resetting anything.
Applies to: Blade keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux 68, Flux 84, and Flux 87 regional models, Devil Breaker and related keyboards, Steampunk, Other supported wireless keyboards shown in the App
Symptoms
A current session (A previewed state that is active while the device remains connected but may not be stored permanently) preview works but disappears, save to device (Store the current settings on the device so they remain after the App disconnects or power is restored) fails, an onboard profile (A device-resident slot that stores a reusable set of supported settings) is different, or a local profile (A reusable set of settings stored by the App on the current computer) and cloud sync (Upload or retrieve eligible account content over the network after signing in) show different copies.
Applies to
Use this guide when the device works but a mapping, tuning, lighting, macro, profile, or screen result does not persist or appears under the wrong profile.
Low-risk checks
- Keep the device connected and identify the selected physical device, onboard slot, local profile, and signed-in account.
- Check whether the App still shows unsaved changes, a failed save, loading sync, or a conflict.
- Return to the setting and change one harmless value. Wait for explicit device-save success instead of relying on the live preview.
- Reconnect once and confirm the same onboard slot before checking retention.
- For local or cloud mismatch, duplicate or export both copies before selecting an overwrite direction.
- Confirm that the imported content supports the current model; unsupported fields can be omitted safely.
Recovery steps
Reapply the last confirmed local export to the intended onboard slot, verify the preview, and save once. For cloud conflict, preserve both versions and choose the correct copy only after comparing device, name, time, and preview.
Stop conditions
Stop before factory reset when you have no backup, cannot identify the selected profile, or the App reports a storage or sync failure repeatedly. Do not overwrite both local and cloud copies during uncertainty.
Contact support
Provide model, selected slot, connection, App version, save message, and whether the issue survives reconnecting. Do not attach profile content that contains private macros or account data unless explicitly requested.
