DARKBEACON GUIDE

Respond to a liquid spill

Disconnect power immediately, prevent further damage, dry the keyboard safely, and know when professional service is required.

On this page

Applies to: Blade keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux 68, Flux 84, and Flux 87 regional models, Devil Breaker and related keyboards, Steampunk, Other supported wireless keyboards shown in the App

Symptoms

Liquid has reached the keyboard, USB connector, keys, or enclosure, whether or not the device still appears to work.

Applies to

Treat every spill as urgent. Sticky, sugary, salty, acidic, or conductive liquid has a higher corrosion risk than clean water.

Low-risk checks

  1. Disconnect the keyboard from USB and every other power source immediately. Do not test keys first.
  2. Move the keyboard away from the liquid and blot visible moisture with a lint-free absorbent cloth.
  3. Keep liquid from entering another connector or computer. Do not shake the keyboard or force liquid deeper with compressed air.
  4. Leave it disconnected in a dry, ventilated place for several hours or longer when moisture may remain.
  5. Record the liquid type, affected area, and time of the spill for support.

Recovery steps

Contact support before reconnecting when liquid reached a connector, internal board, battery area, or large part of the keyboard. Internal residue, especially from sticky liquid, can require qualified cleaning even after the surface looks dry.

Stop conditions

Contact support

Provide the model, liquid type, spill location, whether power was disconnected immediately, and any visible residue. Ask whether inspection, internal cleaning, or switch service is recommended.

See Run basic hardware troubleshooting only after the keyboard is confirmed dry and safe to power.
