Where can I download DarkBeacon App?

Get the latest installer from the official DarkBeacon software page. Choose the download for your supported computer, then follow Install, start, and connect with the App.

Which operating systems are supported?

DarkBeacon App supports Windows 10, Windows 11, and macOS on Apple silicon Macs. Intel-based Macs are not currently supported by the App. A keyboard may still work as a standard keyboard on an Intel Mac, but the App cannot be used there to configure it. See Check system requirements before downloading.

A few options differ by system; in Gamepad Mode, for example, XBox Input is offered on Windows while macOS uses Classic DirectInput.

Can I use my keyboard with a Chromebook?

DarkBeacon keyboards can provide standard keyboard input on compatible Chromebooks, but DarkBeacon App is not available for ChromeOS. Configure advanced settings on a supported Windows computer or Apple silicon Mac first, and confirm that they have been saved to the keyboard. Compatibility depends on the Chromebook, keyboard, connection, and feature. App-dependent features still need the App on a supported computer.

Why does lighting stop and some keys turn white when I hold Fn (Logo)?

This is normal: while you hold Fn (Logo), the lighting effect pauses and keys with a custom key assignment or function on the Fn layer light up white. The white lights help you quickly find which keys have functions available on that layer.

On layouts with a Logo-marked Fn key, hold that key and press the key for the function you want to use. Holding Fn alone does not run those functions. Check Remap > Fn for the current assignments, and see Factory Fn shortcut reference for combinations. If the lighting stays unexpectedly stopped after releasing Fn, follow Adjust keyboard lighting.

Is PS5 mode the same as Gamepad Mode?

No. PS5 mode lets a supported Blade, Flux, Devil Breaker, or Steampunk keyboard provide ordinary keyboard input to a PS5. Gamepad Mode makes supported keys act like controller controls through Classic DirectInput or XBox Input on a computer. Return from PS5 mode to PC mode before using DarkBeacon App configuration pages.

Can I use gradual throttle and steering in racing games?

Yes, when your keyboard offers Gamepad Mode and the game accepts the selected controller type and analog bindings. Map keys to stick directions or triggers to produce intermediate input, including roughly half strength. Changing the keyboard actuation point alone does not enable this, and ordinary controller buttons remain on/off.

The game does not need a DarkBeacon-specific integration if it already accepts those controller inputs. Half of the physical key travel is not necessarily 50% output: the response curve, deadzones, and game settings affect the result. Do Hall-effect switches last longer than mechanical switches?

Hall-effect switches have a durability advantage in how they detect a press, but they do not automatically outlast every conventional mechanical switch. They sense a magnet's position without closing electrical contacts, avoiding wear of the switching contacts found in conventional mechanical switches. Contactless sensing still uses moving parts: the stem, spring, and housing can wear or become damaged.

Actual service life depends on the specific switch, build quality, usage, and conditions. Conventional mechanical switches can also have high endurance ratings. Compare the exact models and their published test conditions; a rated number of presses is not a prediction of years of use or the lifespan of the whole keyboard. Sensors, circuit boards, connectors, and other components can fail independently of the switch mechanism. For a DarkBeacon keyboard, use the specifications for its exact model and fitted switch rather than applying another switch's rating.

After using a Hall-effect keyboard for a while, completing a guided key travel calibration can help maintain consistent input by refreshing the full-release and full-press references, especially if activation feels uneven or travel readings seem inaccurate. Follow the App's instructions and confirm that calibration is saved. Calibration does not repair physical wear or damage.

If a key starts missing, repeating, or triggering unexpectedly, that alone does not prove the switch is worn out. Follow Troubleshoot one key or switch to check settings, movement, and calibration before considering replacement.

Does my keyboard have a microphone, and where can I use it?

Microphone hardware depends on the purchase batch, including for Flux 68 HE. In DB AI, open AI settings > Audio devices > Microphone. If DB keyboard mic appears, the connected keyboard's hardware microphone function is available. If it is not listed, DB AI can still use another working microphone on your computer: choose System default or a named headset, laptop, or USB microphone.

DB keyboard mic currently works only with DB AI voice interaction and does not appear in the Windows system microphone options. This is expected; check its availability inside DB AI instead. It cannot be used for game voice chat, online meetings, recording software, or other applications. Follow Get started with DB AI for microphone selection, permissions, and voice controls.

Does the keyboard microphone listen when it is not selected?

No. When DB AI's current Microphone selection is System default or another microphone, DB keyboard mic does not operate or capture sound. Its presence in the list does not activate it, and selecting it alone does not start recording.

With no saved input preference, the App can automatically select an available keyboard microphone. To keep it inactive, explicitly choose another input and check the selection before starting voice. The other selected microphone can still capture audio during a voice session; choose Exit voice to end the session. See Get started with DB AI for the input selector and voice controls.

Which features need network access?

An internet connection is not required for every function. Supported local device configuration can work offline after installation. AI, sign-in, cloud sync, Store, Community, downloads, purchases, and diagnostics upload require network access. An unavailable online service does not by itself prevent supported local configuration. See System requirements and network use for setup requirements.

Can I use my keyboard after closing the App?

Yes. The keyboard can provide standard keyboard input without keeping the App open. Supported settings that have been successfully saved to the keyboard can remain active after the App closes. A live preview or a cloud copy alone does not confirm that the keyboard has saved those settings. See Understand preview, save, and sync.

Features that depend on the App still require it to run; online features also need a network connection.

How can I contact DarkBeacon Support?

Email support@darkbeacon.ai or use the Contact Us form. Include your keyboard model, operating system, App version, connection method, and a description of what happened. For an order-related question, include your order number or purchase channel. Follow Contact support and send diagnostics when sharing screenshots or logs.

What happens when AI energy runs out?

Only the live account page can confirm energy-based access. If it shows no remaining energy, AI-related actions may pause until energy or an eligible subscription is available; ordinary device settings remain separate.

Where are profiles and assets stored?

DarkBeacon App can have local, cloud, and device-resident states. Do not assume every profile or asset is in the cloud; confirm the upload, sync, and device-save indicators you need.

Can several devices be connected?

DarkBeacon App can show supported connected devices, but settings and simultaneous behavior depend on current product support. Save unfinished changes before switching device cards.

Can recorded and AI-generated macros coexist?

Treat each macro as a separate asset when the current editor supports both sources. Review every action and timing before assigning or saving it.

Does Desktop Pet affect performance?

Resource use depends on the current build and enabled effects. If performance changes, hide or exit the pet and compare the same workload again.

Where do Store or Community downloads appear?

The item details should name its Assets category. Confirm delivery and compatibility before applying it to a device.

Use only a visible Share or Upload action, remove private data, state the exact compatible model, and verify the published copy.
