DARKBEACON GUIDE

Calibrate Hall-effect key travel

Prepare a stable keyboard, complete guided travel calibration, verify every key, and retry safely when the result is incomplete.

On this page

Applies to: Flux keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux 68, Flux 84, and Flux 87 regional models, Devil Breaker and related keyboards, Steampunk, Other supported wireless keyboards shown in the App

What you will accomplish

Complete key travel calibration (A guided process that records reliable full-release and full-press references for Hall-effect keys) so supported Hall-effect keys have a reliable full-release and full-press reference.

After using the keyboard for a while, a guided calibration can help maintain consistent input, especially if activation feels uneven or travel readings seem inaccurate. Calibration refreshes these references; it does not repair physical wear or damage. Follow any model-specific guidance from the App rather than assuming a fixed calibration interval.

Steps

Steps
  1. Export the current profile, close applications that react to keyboard input, and connect stable USB power.
  2. Remove anything pressing a key. Check that every key returns freely and the keyboard rests flat.
  3. Open Calibration and read the on-screen preparation. Start only when the correct model is selected.
  4. Follow the displayed sequence. Press each requested key straight down through its normal full travel, then release it completely.
  5. Do not lean on adjacent keys or disconnect the cable while progress is active.
  6. When collection finishes, wait for the result and the separate save stage. In App 1.16.206 with compatible firmware, leaving collection and saving are coordinated, but completion is not persistent until the final saved result appears.
  7. Exit calibration and test ordinary input before changing actuation or Rapid Trigger settings.

Confirm success

The App reports calibration complete and saved, all keys return to ordinary input, and repeated full presses show consistent travel without a missing or stuck key.

Save result

Calibration is persistent only after the App confirms its save stage. A collected result that has not been saved can be lost after reconnecting.

Limits and cautions

Recovery

Exit the guided flow, wait for the keyboard to become ready, reconnect once by USB if needed, and confirm ordinary input. Repeat from a fully released state once. If the same key remains incomplete, restore conservative actuation settings and contact support.
