Factory Fn shortcut reference

Model-by-model annotated keymaps of the factory-default Fn combinations, covering the F row, RGB lighting, media, volume, win lock, and the physical-key combinations for PS5 mode and the keyboard reset.

What you will understand

Hold Fn and press the matching key to use the keyboard's factory-default Fn mappings. The four US-layout examples below cover the F row, lighting, media and volume. Switching PS5 mode and resetting the keyboard use special physical-key combinations; follow their dedicated guides before using them.

Key positions and assignments can differ by model and language layout. Ordinary Fn-layer actions can be customized in Remap where DarkBeacon App allows it. Remapping does not move or cancel the physical-key combinations for PS5 mode or the keyboard reset.

Each diagram shows a US layout for the named products, not every regional variant or firmware version. Confirm the connected model and its displayed Fn assignments in DarkBeacon App. PS5 mode and reset shortcuts require the applicable firmware identified in their linked guides; do not infer support from key count alone.

Fn (Logo) key and white function indicators

On layouts that mark the Fn key with the DarkBeacon logo, use that Logo key for the Fn combinations in this guide. Hold it and press another key to use that key's Fn-layer assignment; holding Fn alone does not run those assigned functions.

While Fn (Logo) is held, the lighting effect pauses and keys with a custom key assignment or function on the Fn layer light up white. This is a normal visual guide to help you quickly find keys with available functions, not a frozen lighting effect or a keyboard fault. The highlighted keys reflect the Fn-layer assignments; check Remap > Fn to see or change what they do. The white lights identify available assignments, not proof that an assigned App-dependent function can run without the App.

This indication is tied to holding Fn. If lighting remains unexpectedly stopped after you release it, see Adjust keyboard lighting for lighting checks. Fn-layer white indicators are separate from the Win-lock indicator described below.

General shortcut rules

Indicator behavior and available lighting controls vary by product. See Switch onboard device profiles and Adjust keyboard lighting rather than assuming one indicator-color or lighting-slot scheme for every model.

Blade 68 / Flux 68

68-key US Fn layout: keys with an Fn function are tinted light gray and the number row is labeled F1–F12. Leader lines mark Esc as the grave-accent/tilde key, Tab as Print Screen, Q / W as screen brightness down / up, E Task View, T Email, Y Home, U Calculator, I Search, Win as Win Lock, Backspace as Stop macro, and Ins as toggle PS5 mode (follow the guide for key order). The right-hand legends list the P, opening-bracket and closing-bracket keys as cycle system preset light effects, cycle custom light effects and toggle lighting off / on, plus K / L lighting speed down / up and ; / ' lighting brightness up / down. The lower legends list B / N / M as previous track, play-pause and next track, and , / . / / as mute, volume down and volume up. The footer states that holding Fn + Esc + Backspace for 5 seconds resets the keyboard and clears settings.

Blade 87 / Flux 87

87-key US Fn layout: the TKL layout has a dedicated F1–F12 row and keys with an Fn function are tinted light gray. Devil Breaker series

The illustrated knob works on the main layer only: turn it to change volume, press it to mute. The knob has no Fn-layer default — holding Fn while turning or pressing it does not trigger a factory function.

Devil Breaker series US Fn layout: keys with an Fn function are tinted light gray, and the knob is drawn white with its own Knob (main layer) legend — volume down, volume up and mute — noting that the knob works on the main layer only and has no Fn-layer default. Fn-layer mappings are 1–5 for F1–F5, Esc for the grave-accent/tilde key, Tab for Print Screen, W for Page Up, E / R to switch the front / side lighting effect, T for Stop macro, A / S / D / G for Home, Page Down, End and Delete, and F / C / V / B for the up, left, down and right arrow keys. Two thumb keys at the lower right have no factory Fn-layer output. The footer identifies Left Ctrl for the PS5 combination and states that holding Fn + Esc + 5 for 5 seconds resets the keyboard and clears settings.
