DARKBEACON GUIDE
Restore factory defaults
Back up reusable content, choose the correct DarkBeacon App or three-key reset path, and restore only verified settings.
Applies to: Blade keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux keyboards (61, 68, 84, 87, and 100), Flux 68, Flux 84, and Flux 87 regional models, Devil Breaker and related keyboards, Steampunk, Other supported wireless keyboards shown in the App
What you will accomplish
Perform a factory reset (A destructive operation that removes listed custom device settings and restores defaults) only after backing up reusable content and confirming the exact data-loss scope.
Applies to
Steps
- Export important local profiles and any device content DarkBeacon App allows you to back up.
- Read the reset confirmation and identify what it removes, including mappings, advanced keys, macros, lighting, profiles, pairing, screen content, power settings, or calibration when listed.
- Disconnect other identical devices and select the target model again.
- For the DarkBeacon App path, connect directly by USB, start the reset once, and keep power stable until the App reports completion and the keyboard returns. If the App says the current profile was restored only temporarily, select Save to keyboard only when you intentionally want to keep that profile.
- For the standard v285 shortcut, physically hold Fn + Esc + Backspace together for 5 seconds. For Devil Breaker, physically hold Fn + Esc + the main-row 5 key together for 5 seconds. The order of the three keys does not matter; timing begins when all three are down.
- Keep all required keys held while the lighting indicates a pending reset. Releasing any required key before 5 seconds cancels it. After a successful reset, release every key and wait for the keyboard to restart.
- Verify the default mapping, ordinary input, lighting, connection, mode, and calibration status.
- Restore one known-good compatible profile at a time. Preview it before saving to the keyboard.
Confirm success
DarkBeacon App shows the intended keyboard in its normal mode and default state, essential input works, and no old custom setting remains unless the confirmation explicitly said it would be preserved.
Save result
The reset changes device-resident state immediately or during the guided operation. Exported local and cloud content remains separate until you choose to apply it again.
Limits and cautions
The shortcut uses physical key positions, so remapping, disabling, macros, layers, and advanced keys do not move it. A reset is blocked during calibration. If the keyboard is saving when the 5-second hold completes, release all three keys, wait for saving to finish, and repeat the full hold. On Steampunk, a physical factory reset can also clear wireless pairing; pair the keyboard again after the reset if needed.
Recovery
Apply the exported known-good profile to the correct marketing model, verify a preview, and save it. Re-pair wireless connections only after ordinary USB input is stable. In PS5 mode, first use the product's keep-settings shortcut: Fn + Insert for supported Blade 68/84/87/100 and Flux 68/84/87/100 keyboards, or Fn + Esc + Left Ctrl for Blade 61, Devil Breaker, and Steampunk. Use the factory-reset chord only when a destructive recovery is intended.
