Select a supported connection, confirm the active device, and recover when wireless switching does not complete.

Applies to: Steampunk, Other supported wireless keyboards shown in the App

What you will accomplish

Choose a supported connection mode (The active USB, Bluetooth, or 2.4G path used by a supported device), switch without losing unfinished changes, and confirm that the App and the operating system see the intended device.

Steps

Steps
  1. Save to device (Store the current settings on the device so they remain after the App disconnects or power is restored) or discard unfinished edits before switching.
  2. For USB, connect a data cable directly and select the device after detection completes.
  3. For Bluetooth, choose the intended device slot, enter pairing mode using the model's visible instruction, and select the matching name in OS Bluetooth settings.
  4. For 2.4G, connect the matching receiver, select the 2.4G device mode, and wait for a stable connection indicator.
  5. In the App, confirm the device name and connection shown for the current device. Do not apply or save changes if the device disappears during the switch.
  6. Test ordinary input, sleep and wake, and one profile switch before returning to work.

Confirm success

Only the intended device receives input, the App shows the correct model and connection when supported, and reconnect plus wake are stable.

Save result

Changing the physical connection does not save unfinished settings. Some pairing information persists separately, but configuration changes still need explicit device-save success.

Limits and cautions

Recovery

Return to USB, wait for full detection, and verify the current profile. For Bluetooth, remove only the failed OS pairing and pair the intended slot again. For 2.4G, reconnect the matching receiver once; stop repeated pairing if the model or receiver is uncertain.
